Where do they find all this stuff. It's painful if you stand on it. Irritating if you have to pick it up. Expensive when the dog swallows it. Exhausting when they fight over it. Stuff.

But! I know I will be glad to have taken these pictures. Each little piece is priceless. Special to them and special to me. So many corny memories and before I know it they will be only to happy to let me throw it all away. And then I'll be sad.

Our misty morning walk in the forest this morning. I have been walking in the same place at the same time for a while now. This way you see the same people and their dogs and you start to recognise them. It's nice that. Have you ever tripped over your kid's scooter in the driveway. Not so nice that.

Google buttons and you can get lost in the murky depths of bad (but fun) crafting! These buttons though definately make the grade.

Beautiful photos and tutorial on button biscuits from forty-sixth at Grace. Going to be making these this weekend. Button tie wedding favours from Martha Stewart. Purl Bee felt slippers with GREEN! love green! oversized buttons. Highly impractical to die for button plates from have you met miss Jones. What's with these Australians. They are all over us with there gorgeous homes and fab photography. Enough already!

These are based on the amazing creature comfort's coffee filter pom poms.

Made them for party bags for A's party and for E's christmas presents.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

And now for the colourful centre. Once you get going it is quite easy to make loads.

Yup, another birthday. So my daughter asked for raspberry cupcakes and pistachio cupcakes. Yum. So I was icing them at midnight last night (well when else are mom's supposed to make cupcakes) and I mistakenly put pistachio icing on the raspberry cakes and raspberry icing on the pistachio cakes. Doh! But actually they taste delicous.

My sister says I'm a slut to design. She's right I get such a kick out of whats 'new'and 'on trend' How things look and gathering like a magpie ideas and images from like minded design slaves.

I think I have passed it on to my eldest daughter because she got a bit crazy with me on the party decor for the five year olds birthday party. We had a blast and I think the kids did too.

So putting the hours of pinterest party perusing to good use here are some ideas we used.

Kate spade envelopes on the wall. Great impact for very little effort and we turned it into a game of charades by drawing pictures and popping them in the envelopes. Couldn't find the original post but eatdrinkchic still has a post about it.
Martha Stewart tissue paper pom-poms. Again, great impact for very little effort.
Hang balloons from the ceiling. Just as effective as helium.
Oh yes and post it notes make great flag cake toppers. All my own idea!

Top Drawer Spring is on and we're there so come and say hi! This year it is paired with the Home show and I must say it's all looking very swish. I have totally lost my sense of direction, I normally know exactly where I am on the show but they have changed everything around so I have done a lot of walking in circles scratching my head, but all good, the show looks tremendous.

E had a homework assignment to bake a cupcake.

I think she did remarkably well.

She sketched her idea,

planned the best way to do it.

Made a shopping list, sent mom (me) shopping

and put aside a day to bake.
